Are you interested in adopting a BC? Here are some steps you need to take: First, Read the "So you want a BC?" link and all links off of it. Then fill out our application and contact us if you have not heard from us in 72 hours. From there we will schedule a home visit and arrange for you to meet a BC. In most cases the adoption fee is $200.00, however, this fee may vary. Please feel free to ask us the adoption fee of a BC and any other information you need to know about our rescue group.

Companion Dogs: Companion dogs generally are more laid back and just enjoy hanging out with their family. They may enjoy some fetch and walks, but they will not require a "job" or an excess of strenuous activity. Most but not all companion dogs will be ok with other animals and children. They have good house manners and just enjoy being a member of the family.

ACTIVE COMPANION: Active companions require more time and one-on-one attention than do companion dogs. These dogs need some kind of daily activity or exercise. They generally will enjoy fetch, frisbee, running, walking, biking. They need an active home with an active lifestyle. Some active companion dogs will get along with other animals and some with kids. These dogs generally are more high energy.

Haven is approximately 10 months old and is a black and white smooth coat female. She is brand new to rescue and is figuring out what life is like here. She was found as a stray and saved from an animal shelter. She gets along good with other dogs and loves to jump in your lap for lovin'. More info to come soon.

PERFORMANCE DOGS: Performance dogs are dogs that are going to require some kind of canine sport. These dogs can be described as over the top and are definitely high energy. These dogs do not do well with small children. These dogs will require a lot of time and patience and someone who is ready for a super active friend.

REFERRALS: These following dogs are referrals. They are listed as a courtesy in order to help them find a new home. Skyway Border Collie Rescue, Inc. has not met these dogs. Therefore, we make no representation as to her health, temperament, or suitability.

This wonderful dog is well trained and very smart. She is a 4 yr old Border Collie Mix. She is very playful with my other 2 rescue dogs. But she seems to be staring out the window anxiously and wanting to get outside and "look for her family." She loves her walks but really acts like she is looking................Call Christine Million at 239-464-0515 .....

Rylee is 3 years old and is a border collie/labrador mix. He was a rescue originally from an animal shelter. He has great house manners and has had some basic obedience. He gets along with most dogs, but would do best with female dogs. He is not aggressive with small children, but would be more comfortable in a home with kids 12 and up. Rylee is about 50 lbs and he has a short coat like a lab. He is up to date on all veterinary appointments and is neutered. Due to some circumstances in his current home, Rylee is looking to start a new chapter in his life.

All of our adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in adopting a dog please fill out an application, home checks are also required. Unless otherwise noted please contact skywaybcrescue@hotmail.com or 727-871-2817.

Our goal is to match you with the best BC. We strive to make our adoptions ones that will be the dog's forever home. By filling out an application it gives us a better idea as far as what BC would best fit your lifestyle. Since we only house a few borders at a time it is possible that we may not have the perfect match for you at the very moment you inquire. However, we do keep a list of those people who are looking for a particular kind of dog. We will contact you once that particular dog becomes available. We know other rescue groups who may have the dog you are looking for. Please respect our judgment on what dog would best fit your lifestyle.
