A little more about us...
Amber Horan, president of Skyway Border Collie Rescue, Inc. has been involved with dogs for over 13 years. She began her training with Dobermans, but soon caught the Border Collie bug and has been hooked ever since. She has trained in obedience as well as agility, and has even done some herding with her own personal dogs. Agility her is main passion as she competes with her three BCs, Bongo, Blink, and Pip. The newest addition "Strike" is a rescue who has just joined the family. He will be trained in agility as well. She has professionally trained for 4 years and attended many seminars and clinics regarding animal welfare and behavior. Before opening Skyway Border Collie Rescue, Inc. she volunteered for 5 years with Southeast Border Collie Rescue League, Inc. After recognizing the need for border collie rescue on the west coast of Florida she began the process and alas Skyway Border Collie Rescue, Inc. was formed.
Marcia Horan, vice president, has been involved with dogs and training as long as her daughter Amber has. She has attended many of the same clinics and seminars, and has been witness to many dog training classes.
Sarah Kundinger, rescue coordinator, has been involved with dogs for many years. She has volunteered for many other breed specific rescue groups, and is a proud grandma to two border collies who compete in agility.
