Bella is a 2 year old female, classically marked BC. She just joined us from an animal shelter where she was an owner surrender. This girl is brand new and we are still evaluating her. But so far she has proved herself to be an absolute sweetheart. Good with other dogs and loves attention from people. Bella still needs to be vetted so she is not ready for adoption just yet.

Charlie is another Georgia boy who was rescued from euthanasia. Charlie is approximately 4-5 years old and is your classic black and white BC. Charlie is a big guy at about 50 lbs. He has a ton of coat and a lot of love to share. We are uncertain as to Charlie's past. He is very nervous with household noises and very unsure of a lot of things. Charlie is gaining his confidence, but he will need a home with some compassion to help him flourish into the dog that he can be. Charlie is good with other dogs. He would do best in a home with another dog so that Charlie could watch the other dog in day to day situations and learn that everything is going to be ok. Charlie is being fostered in Palm Harbor, FL. You must be willing to meet him there.

Update: 7/18/10 Sienna has had her heartworm treatment and
is now just waiting out the process and the effects of the treatment. Heartworm
treatment is very hard on the dogs, and you must keep them completely still for
the first month. After that you gradually increase activity. Because of this she
cannot be spayed until she is heartworm free., which should be in October.
Sienna will not be available for adoption until around the mid to end of
October.
Sienna just joined us from Georgia where she was VERY close
to euthanasia. Thanks to a group of fantastic volunteers, she made it out of the
shelter safe and is now resting comfortably here. She is young approximately 1.5
years old and appears to be a Border Collie Mix. Not sure exactly with what,
maybe spaniel? She is a fantastic little girl who is great with other dogs and
has good house manners. She has very little prey drive, she should be good with
cats too. Sienna will make the perfect housepet and companion. She is eager to
cuddle with you and will take affection every chance she gets. Sienna is
heartworm positive and will be undergoing treatment. She should be ready for
adoption mid to late August. We are taking applications for interested parties.
Please email us for our application if you are interested, skywaybcrescue@hotmail.com.
Please note that there may be other applications on this dog. It is not first
come first served, it's the home that best suits the dog. Therefore all
applications will be considered. Our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on all
shots, heartworm negative and on preventative, microchipped, and on flea/tick
preventative

Our goal is to match you with the best BC. We strive to make our adoptions ones that will be the dog's forever home. By filling out an application it gives us a better idea as far as what BC would best fit your lifestyle. Since we only house a few dogs at a time it is possible that we may not have the perfect match for you at the very moment you inquire. However, we do keep a list of those people who are looking for a particular kind of dog. We also have contacts with other rescue groups and animal shelters in the area that may the right match for you. We will contact you once that particular dog becomes available. Please respect our judgment on what dog would best fit your lifestyle. Also keep in mind that we have a busy schedule outside of border collie rescue. We work full time jobs and compete with our own borders frequently. We will do our best to make the adoption process as time efficient as possible. Thank you for your consideration.
