We are a registered 501c3 non-profit group dedicated to the care and welfare of Border Collies. We take dogs in from a variety of situations including but not limited to owner turn ins, shelters, and strays.
Our goal is to maintain a small rescue environment so that each dog gets the individual attention and training that it deserves. Our rescues are kept in our homes and treated as if they were our own, including veterinary care, premium nutrition, and lots of love. Border Collies are unlike any other breed and they require much of their owner's attention. When a dog comes in, he/she is evaluated for temperament and health. Our Border Collies are given basic obedience, socialization, and rehabilitation as needed. Once the dog has been evaluated it is our job to find that dog a forever home. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and tick preventative as well as heartworm preventative.
We rely on donations to keep us going. All donations are greatly appreciated and go straight to the dogs. The average amount of money put into a rescue can vary when you add up the spay/neuter, vaccines, heartworm test/treatment, micro-chip, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, food, regular care and upkeep, and any additional expenses needed. We are a registered 501c3 non-profit organization, so all donations are tax deductible. If you are unable to donate monetarily we are always also in need of the items on our wish list, ie. Heartgard, Frontline Plus or Comfortis, Solid Gold Hundenflocken Dry Dog Food, towels, and blankets. Thank you for your interest and support in Skyway Border Collie Rescue.
We continuously have some wonderful dogs in rescue awaiting their forever homes. Many of them will excel in canine sports such as, agility, flyball, frisbee, obedience, rally, herding, tracking, and search and rescue, just to name a few. We also will have low energy level BC's that will make great companions and pets. Before you consider a BC as your next addition, please do your research and read over our links.
